Air pollution linked to heightened risk of progressive and irreversible sight loss (AMD)

Age-related macular degeneration is one of the leading causes of irreversible blindness in older adults, and a new long-term study just revealed that air pollution could be linked to a heightened risk of AMD. If these findings are confirmed, they could pave the way for new treatment options.
"Never in my wildest dreams would I have ever thought that I would be doing an Ironman or marathons," he said. "Not having sight has given me these amazing opportunities that I would have never had."
