A ‘Touch Tour’ of Philadelphia
A photo of the Philadelphia skyline against a pale blue sky with only a few clouds. When her daughter was born blind, the entrepreneur who created Philly’s touch tour decided that things in the world needed to change to accommodate the visually impaired.

Knowing that her daughter wouldn’t be able to experience Philadelphia in the usual, visual way that most do, she set out to create a tour that would be able to encompass the popular markets, pasta shops and tourist attractions.

She helped to train the vendors in how to allow the visually impaired to participate and is now running programs for shops and businesses not on the tour to make them equally accessible.
