Berkeley Students with Print Disabilities Win Accommodations from the University
Disability rights advocates reached a settlement with UC Berkeley that will benefit the university's students with print disabilities, including those with visual impairments, and may have implications for universities across the United States. Students complained that print materials in accessible formats were not readily available from the Berkeley's Disabled Students Program and that they were often forced to resort to asking their parents to read to them in order to complete their assignments.
