New App Spots Glaucoma Early Signs

It's essential to catch the signs of glaucoma early on. Doctors recommend getting an annual eye exam with an ophthalmologist if you are over the age of 40 or have a family history of glaucoma. Now there is a new app that can help patients spot the early signs of glaucoma.

"By the time a glaucoma patient sees a physician, almost 50 to 75 percent of them have moderate to severe visual field loss which they're not aware of," said Dr. Meghal Gagrani, a glaucoma fellow at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
