What Is Macular Degeneration?

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is the U.S.' most common cause of legal blindness. AMD's most common symptoms are blurred vision and vision loss. AMD has two main types

1. dry macular degeneration, typically caused by the center of the retina deteriorating
2. wet macular degeneration, typically caused by leaky blood vessels growing under the retina
