Playing Hockey with Blindness
blindnessCarl Soderberg plays for the Arizona Coyotes of the National Hockey League. What makes Soderberg unique is that he's legally blind in his left eye. His vision was compromised in 2006 when an opponent's stick hit his eye and detached his retina leaving him living with blindness.

"It was a little different on the eyes, I was scared, afraid to get hit again," he said. "It took me a couple years to fully get back."

San Diego Center for the Blind offers several vision rehabilitation programs. Please contact us to learn more.
