Being born with blindness is sure to present several challenges. However, vision loss is merely an obstacle, not a dead end. Doug Perez was born premature and without vision. Still, he was able to become an honorary police officer despite blindness. Perez has always been interested in law enforcement, and now he has an opportunity to help.

"It's something that I've always wanted to do and I wouldn't imagine doing anything else," Perez said.
