Did you know that roughly 120,000 Americans have lost their vision because of glaucoma? During National Glaucoma Awareness Month it is vital that you talk to your family about the condition. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that glaucoma is the second leading cause of blindness across the globe. Since glaucoma is practically asymptomatic, at first, it is critical to have regular, comprehensive eye examinations. The sooner glaucoma is spotted, the sooner treatment can commence. This January, we can all help raise awareness about this severe eye disease.
