Shedding Light on Glaucoma
glaucomaEven though millions of Americans have glaucoma, a condition that damages the optic nerve, most people are not aware they have the eye disease. It's no wonder that people often refer to the condition as the "sneak thief of sight." During National Glaucoma Awareness Month, it's vital to teach the general public about this disorder.

The majority of people fail to realize they have the condition until it is well-advanced. Peripheral vision is the first to worsen; however, "the visual acuity or sharpness of vision is maintained until late in the disease," according to the Glaucoma Research Foundation.

Please contact SDCB if vision rehabilitation programs can improve your life quality.
