Last weekend, the Braille Institute of America Braille Challenge Finals was held in Los Angeles June 21-22. While Braille is invaluable to people living with blindness, there are indications that many children are not learning it today.

50% of all children who are blind learned Braille in the 1950s, according to the National Federation of the Blind. Even though Braille is exceedingly beneficial to the visually impaired, around one in 10 blind children learn Braille.
